Blister Rust CD

Blister Rust is a NYC Aggressive Rock band formed in 1994. The band has released two albums on their own label (Thundermug).  The debut album was released in 1997 ("Birth Is Painful") and the other in 1998 ("Who's Gonna Scratch Your Itch?!!").  Both albums were on rotation on about 500 college stations and charted many times in CMJ. Blister Rust pounds the human animal to think and prods the listener to reflect. A "Black Sabbath like" set-up. This is a band that sparks the bowl and ignites the soul. Their sound is as if Soundgarden met Motorhead at a bar during a self-improvement seminar.  The results produce a pounding unadulterated solid guitar rock band.  Through it all, Blister Rust punches your ears with an attitude that is not afraid to laugh.

Blister Rust is comprised of four different and distinct personalities.  Rx Rasputin is the leader and vocalist/lyricist in the band. Rx is one of those guys who never missed a day of high school, graduated college in three years,  owns his own businesses and basically has this huge calling to get this band on the road.  He is described by locals as "wild-eyed and a half a dollar short upstairs".  Terry Toajin is the new guitarist (Otto Spumo has recently left the band due to artistic differences) and main songwriter in the group.   Terry is a dedicated and gifted musician.  He's open-minded, diverse and truly understands the word "retarded" in a musical sense.   Dug Spoon is the bassist and politician for the group. Therefore, anything Dug says should be swallowed as truthful and all- important.  Simon Sinister is the new drummer. He joined in late 1999 after Terry retired his sticks to become Eddie Van Grohl. Blister Rust has finished up its regional tour this summer and is currently working on material for its 3rd album. Look for it in gum ball machines in 2000 A. D. Drink Bong Water.
