Glastonbury based band Cable Co have global ideas! Cable Co have just released their debut album, entitled "Monumental" and are currently in discussions with Sony Japan, Virgin Records and Epic Europe.
Cable Co are:
Steve Bilsborough - Lead Vocals Van Buxton - Lead Guitar, Vocals
Shaun Buxton - Bass Guitar, Vocals Ian Sapsead - Drums, Vocals
The band, initially named Mark4, formed in July 1998 as a result of a chance conversation in a Glastonbury pub. (Yes they had been drinking)
Each one of the four band members brought with them varying amounts of songwriting and live experience. It quickly became apparent that as a band they had a particular talent for producing self
penned originals, but it was also acknowledged that playing covers was necessary. However, if they were to play covers, they intended to be the best at playing them!!
Mark4's first gig in October 1998 went down a storm and subsequently many other gigs followed, with many venues actually contacting
the band after hearing of the band from other promoters/venues. At the beginning of 1999, the band began to concentrate on song writing and increasing the number of originals in their set.
Subsequently, in May 1999, to coincide with the release of their debut originals album, and as record company interest began to grow, the band
decided to change it's name to sound less like a boy band!! Thus Cable Co were born.
Now, less than 12 months after they formed, Cable Co have played over 20 gigs, recorded their debut album and are talking to a number of
interested major labels including Sony & Virgin. Not bad for the first year !
