of a cult leader, Carbon 14's frontman Jim Jones has a voice to die for. Deep rich and powerful, this is Eddy Vedder with the tone and control of a 50's crooner.
Jim(24; vocals/guitar), AI(20;bass) and Ken met on a performing arts course. But don't hold that against them. Carbon 14 is no naff
stardom-by-numbers contrivance spawned by '90's kids from fame. Along with Doug(21; lead guitar), who was picked up in a fast food restaurant with 2 happy meals and a fillet-o-fish, they play their music with
passion and intensity.
Carbon 14 have built a steady following over the last 3 years by peddling their unique brand of what Melody Maker describes as classy altema-rocN
around the live music venues, pubs and clubs of the South West. In fact, Carbon 14's pulsating and elegantly edgy musings on life, love and fire have proved so popular that they have jus t released their demo locally as an E.P., entitled "Detached and connected".
